Originally from Detroit, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan in 1985. He and his brother, Dr. Dennis Spillane (the co-founders of Acme Dental Health Care in Traverse City and Bellaire Dental Health Care), have practiced dentistry together in Northern Michigan for over 35 years. Shawn enjoys outdoor sports—especially bicycling—as well as cooking and traveling in his free time. Dr. Shawn is known for his compassionate patient care, taking time to explain conditions and build trust. Dr. Shawn remains dedicated to affordable, high-quality dentistry and lifelong community relationships. Dr. Shawn provides all types of dental care such as: Crowns/Bridges/Fillings, Dental Extractions, Dentures, and Root Canal Therapy.

Dr. Dennis has lived in Northern Michigan since 1998, enjoying hobbies such as collecting wooden boats and snowmobiling. With a warm, down‑to‑earth approach, he’s passionate about patient care and nurturing long-term relationships. His focus has always been on delivering high-quality, affordable dentistry to his neighbors and friends in the area. Dr. Dennis is proficient in all forms of Dentistry but mainly focuses on Restorative Dentistry such as: Crowns/Bridges/Fillings, Dentures, and Dental Extractions.
Originally from Okemos. Dr. Stilwill earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 2009 and has been heavily involved with organizations like the Resort District Dental Society and Michigan Dental Association (MDA) immediately upon graduation. He has served on the MDA’s House of Delegates and served as a Trustee on the MDA’s board. In 2014, Dr. Stilwill made Northern Michigan his home where he currently enjoys spending time with his three kids, skiing, biking, and running. Dr. Stilwill provides an excellent, friendly, and welcoming patient experience and performs a myriad of dental procedures including Restorative (Crowns/Bridges/Fillings), Dental Extractions, Kid-Friendly Dentistry, Dentures, and Root Canal Therapy.
A Traverse City native. Dr. Burke received his Doctorate from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 2015 and completed an intensive General Practice Residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He then worked in private practice in San Francisco where he furthered his experience and education before returning home to Northern Michigan to establish his professional practice. In 2019, Dr. Burke became a Fellow of The California Implant Institute in conjunction with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas by completing its rigorous Dental Implant training program as well as completing a comprehensive IV Sedation program in 2025 through St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. When Dr. Burke is not caring for his patients, he enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, beach volleyball, playing guitar, traveling, and spending time with his wife & two children. Dr. Burke serves as the in-house specialist for our practice performing Dental Implant and Complicated Surgeries all the while offering IV sedation.
